Also known as the SimplyCash business card, the Amex Business Card offers businesses a simple way to save money. At no annual fee, this card gives holders an impressive cash rebate every year.

In Canada, American Express Cards are issued by the Amex Bank of Canada. This banking institution operates in partnership with Amex Canada Inc., one of the major providers of travel services in the country, which also provides support to companies in controlling and managing expenses. Both companies are subsidiaries of American Express Travel Related Services Company, Inc., which is based in New York.

With the Amex business card, you can earn cash rebates of up to $1,250 a year. The credit limit is $50,000. Additional advantages include a disability plan for small businesses and online expense management reports.

So how can you earn returns of $1,250 a year? The rebate amount depends on your expenses and the number of months you maintain a balance. If you want to get a rebate, however, you have to meet the requirements annually. The rebate amount is based only on purchases and attached as a credit to your bank statement at the beginning of every fiscal year. You earn a rebate of 0.25 percent on the first $2,000 you spend, 0.5 percent on the next $3,000 and 1.5 percent on any sum over $5,000 (spent in one year). If you maintain a balance, you earn a bonus rebate of 0.5 percent on all qualifying new purchases.

With regard to the disability plan for small businesses, you can benefit from the protection that Amex Business Card offers against financial difficulties. These may arise from total and permanent disability. What is more, this protection comes at no extra cost. If you are a Sole Proprietor, you qualify for benefits of up to $10,000 in case of accidental injury. The length of card membership is directly proportional to the benefit amount. The latter can reach $25,000 after two years and $50,000 after a period of six. Furthermore, you will be offered an additional $5,000 to cover the cost of business, whether this is for sustaining or closing it. If you lose a staff member who holds an Amex business card, you receive up to $10,000 for hiring and training a new employee.

The convenient online expense management reports help you keep track of expenses, even those of your employees. You can pay off the card by phone, online, at an ATM, at your local bank branch, or by mail. If you are approved for an Amex Business Card, you can withdraw money from 40,000 ATMs across Canada. You can choose whether to pay off the card in full or in installments.

Another good alternative is BMO CashBack MasterCard for Business. The zero annual fee is a definite advantage while interest rate is at 19.5 percent on purchases and cash advances. Card holders can opt for premium or no fee reward levels. The no fee choice allows clients to earn 1.5 percent cash back at all Canada-based Shell locations and 0.5 percent cash back on purchases. Choosing the premium level, card holders get 1 percent cash back on purchases and 3 percent at Shell locations. The card in available in US and Canadian dollars, and there is an annual fee of $60 for the Premium option.
