American Express AIR MILES Gold Business Card credit card details and credit card application link.

For no annual fee, the AmEx Air Miles Gold Business Card lets you earn reward miles for your business, gives you the opportunity to maintain a balance, provides insurance coverage, and more. You earn 150 free miles just for racking up $1000 in purchases within three months of membership. As the name suggests, the Air Miles Gold Business Card offers certain business benefits. These include no annual fee, a disability plan for small enterprises, provision of online expense management, free consultations from small business experts, and free supplementary cards for staff. AmEx offers travel insurance, accident coverage, emergency replacement if you lose your card and assured hotel reservations.

The popular rate for cash advances and purchases is 19.99 percent upon opening the account. If you miss two payments in the next year, the rate rises to 21.99 percent for the 12 consecutive billing periods. In case you fail to make a payment and it remains unpaid in the next two or more billing periods or miss more than three payments, the rate for the next 12 billing periods rises to 25.99 percent.

An advantage of the AmEx Air Miles Gold Business Card is the interest-free grace period for balance transfers, AmEx checks, and funds advances. If you pay off the card in full by the deadline, you get twenty-one days on new purchases, counting from the final closing date on your bank statement. The minimum payment on this card is the greater of 3 percent or $10 of the outstanding balance.

With respect to foreign currency conversion, the setup is as follows: all charges in foreign currency except those in US dollars will be converted into US dollars on the date the charge to the card is processed and then into Canadian dollars. If it is in US dollars, then it will be converted into Canadian dollars. Exchange rates are based on inter-bank rates taken from key industry sources on the business day before the date the charge is processed. There is a one-time exchange commission of 2.5 percent of the amount charged to the card.

While the business savings program is not applicable to that card, disability protection comes in the form of Disability Plan for Small Businesses. The Travel Accident Insurance goes with coverage of up to $100,000 while additional travel protection is guaranteed by the American Express Assured reservations.

All eligible fees are levied on the day the transaction is carried out with a few exceptions. Among them are the following: $2.75 for funds advance, $25 for dishonored payment (failure to make a valid payment), and $3 per statement reprint. There is a $10 fee for each return on reward miles through online services and $15 for returns through other channels, plus additional taxes. The fee for exceeding your credit limit is $29. The same fee is levied at the close of every next billing period if you are still over your limit.

For a quick comparison, business owners may review the features and benefits of the BMO AIR MILES MasterCard for Business. This financial product comes with no annual fee, 19.5 percent interest rate on purchases and cash advances, and three bonus levels to choose from (bronze, silver, and gold). If you opt for the gold level, you will earn 1 point for all purchases of $15. The card is available in Canadian and US currency.
