Citi MasterCard credit card reviews

Citi MasterCard credit card details and credit card application link.

The basic no-fee card offered by Citibank is the Citi MasterCard. This financial product allows you to save up and enjoy 24-hour security and customer service. The interest rate on purchases is 19.99 percent and 22.99 percent on cash advances. This may seem excessive, but it goes along with a large number of benefits. For one, most of us have experienced the dreadful feeling of buying something we really wanted at what we thought was a great price and found the same item in another store at a lower price the next day. It does not have to be the next day as far as the Citi MasterCard is concerned – it can be up to 60 days after making the purchase. Citi will credit your account with the price difference as long as it does not exceed $100. If it does, $100 is covered - of course, following approval of your documented claim. This way, the savings will add up to as much as $500 each year. Anything over this amount will not be covered. Another requirement is that the two goods are produced by the same manufacturer. Items such as tickets of any kind, collectibles, unique items, animals, any kind of service, computer hardware and software, motorized vehicles and vehicle parts, art, plants, antiques and perishable goods do not qualify. Naturally, the benefit is not extended to grey and black market items either.

Many of us have been in a situation where we are in a dire need of cash. With the Citi MasterCard, you have access to funds in seconds from any Automated Bank Machine (ABM) bearing the logos of Cirrus or Interac not only in Canada, but around the world. Cash is available to you 24/7 from the moment you are issued the card. You will have to return the money eventually and at almost 25 percent interest at that, but…that should not worry you. You get cash from the ABM after entering your 4-digit pin, your Citi account number, and the amount you need. You can also get in-branch advances at any bank branch in Canada which issues MasterCard. These include all branches of the Bank of Montreal, HSBC, National Bank, Alberta Treasury, or some of the credit union branches.

Checking the offers of other banks is a wise idea; so, you might want to look at the credit cards featured by some other major banks in Canada. The Bank of Montreal, for example, advertises the BMO Preferred Rate MasterCard. This financial product goes with no annual fee, interest rate of 17.5 percent, and low interest rate of 11.9 percent for a small annual fee of $20 a year. The card comes with Purchase Protection, Extended Warranty, and Zero Liability. Apart from the 21 day grace period, optional features include Medical Protection, Travel Protection, and Balance Insurance. The card goes with a chip technology, MasterCard SecureCode, Identity Theft Assistance, and help around the world. Emergency funds and replacement of stolen and lost cards is also available.
